Shopping Hiatus

I'm trying to get everything sorted. My wardrobe is in all right order, the flat in fairly good shape. Soon it will be possible just to buy food, take ballet class and get supplies for the guinea pigs, work and study. The clutter has been endless and I've spent almost a year sorting it out - on and off that is. The attic still needs attention, but now I have what I need; a house in all right shape, excess clothes and supplies have been given away. It has been an interesting process. I've learnt a lot about what I'm willing to do as well - for myself and in my line of work. House cleaning can be strangely interesting.

Lens Bug

I'm trying to do some serious (?) planning here and someone jumps in front of my camera :D

Sorry, earlier on I posted a photo with an incorrect photo credit. I thought it had been taken by a friend who takes endless pictures of ducks - lovely ones too, but this one was taken by a Norwegian journalist whose name escapes me. Sorry, for not checking more thoroughly.

Today I think I'd like a

pacific island. Possibly delivered at my door.

Schubert

"When I visited him for the first time, and it was in winter and extremely cold, I found him in a dimly lit, damp, unheated little room; he was sitting wrapped up in an old, threadbare dressing-gown, freezing with cold,
and
-composing"

My Artisan Friend

Shannon LeVart makes gorgeous pieces, takes commissions and also makes components and tutorials for your own homemade jewelry. A couple of days ago I got two packages form her, additions to make my wardrobe pop. Although her presentation is wonderfully good, her work looks even better in real life. This is her ETSY shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/missficklemedia?ref=seller_info

Giacomelli

Frank Horvat : So there are situations when you say to yourself : "I can't photograph this".

Mario Giacomelli : : It's not that I say it to myself. I just suddenly realise that I'm not taking photos. It happens when I see things I can't accept as real: how is it possible that a human being, after a lifetime of work and struggle, should be condemned to exist in this manner?

Shopping Hiatus 2013 - 2

Lists it is. The only way it seems is making a list of everything bought, except for food, ballet&yoga class and supplies for the guinea pigs. So I spend money on exercise, maybe some books, food, the pigs and pretty much nothing else. May possibly double as meditation.

Brahms and Ginette Neveu

M in London told me about Ginette Neveu a few years ago, thankfully. I find her playing magical.

Shopping Hiatus Yet Again

The closets are cleaned out now. Years of knitting appeared, towels, wash cloths, new socks in abundance. We are a family of textile devotees. I need nothing more! I am actually quite shocked with what I found. So no more shopping, no more clutter hopefully. I have everything I need and more; bags, bedlinen, sweaters in abundance. I have to stop knitting! Well, maybe not woolen socks, but really .... It is time to resume the shopping hiatus - and stay that way.

Maybe not quite enough out of focus, but I kind of like it anyhow. Roof of the Zetlitz Hall

St. Hieronymus with his party hat - Picture taken here (LINK) - oh dear

Oh dear - how to better one self?

Vegetarian Christmas food next year. I gave in to some extent due to pressure this year, it seems somewhat hard to stomach if you do not eat meat during the holidays. How to be discreetly vegetarian/vegan? Hmmmm

Ballet class, qi gong class (the teacher just said she is doing a little ski gong in the mountains these days:), a bit of jogging, more vegetables, write an interview again, read some school books to prepare to start studying again, try to avoid anti fur demonstrations even if they are tempting, not say too many silly things :) ? Spend time with friends. Stay levelheaded. That should sum it up, more or less. And stop buying things again, after checking my work wardrobe, my makeup and finding them adequate. More shopping hiatus. Concentrate on being happy on a shoestring, I guess. Sounds good to me! Happy new year!

Lens

So I'm taking myself very seriously these days, buying a lens that one can take to full format. It is quite a thing to do. It feels like buying a grand piano, really serious.

Thank You

Today I came back from the shops.

I am so lucky! I have a place to stay, friends, family, work, enough food and three beautiful pets, the possibility to take pictures, play the piano, study, even drink a wicket glass of vine if I choose. This is such a privilege - I am truly lucky.

The Unseen People

There is a man I know somewhat. He has chosen not to speak. He is gentle. He has no family to take care of him, so he lives in a supervised flat. He can not really take care of himself, he would not survive  without help, but it is very hard to know what he needs and wants. This Christmas he got plastic flowers, they are easy to take care of. I wonder if they are easy on the eyes?
