Cameras are funny. Mine hasn't worked since spring, but I finally got the manufacturer to say "send it back and we'll fix it" so I wrapped it up and put it into its box. This morning, to check something, I took it out of the box and it works fine.
So, soak it, or put it in a box? Cameras really are funny!
