I Protest

against stupidity that kills - either spiritually or bodily or both. I wish for the courage to be disobedient when needed. My heart aches when I see good people who should know better be obedient when facing cruelty. If basal needs are met, there must be playful work and friends and joy.

Study Las Vegas Chrysanthemum

After working on hopefully tasteful monochromes for months for an exhibition, I just decided to be a bit crazy bordering on tasteless. The start was a pink, delicate chrysanthemum, for me a holy flower, treated with rather banal processes - becoming these. The inspiration is Las Vegas, a living nightmare in my eyes, as drinking and gambling is not my kind of fun at all. But I feel a fascination none the less with artificiality and what drives us towards it.

I somehow think we are broken beings when far removed from nature, quite lost. I hope we can be found.
