St. Hieronymus with his party hat - Picture taken here (LINK) - oh dear

Oh dear - how to better one self?

Vegetarian Christmas food next year. I gave in to some extent due to pressure this year, it seems somewhat hard to stomach if you do not eat meat during the holidays. How to be discreetly vegetarian/vegan? Hmmmm

Ballet class, qi gong class (the teacher just said she is doing a little ski gong in the mountains these days:), a bit of jogging, more vegetables, write an interview again, read some school books to prepare to start studying again, try to avoid anti fur demonstrations even if they are tempting, not say too many silly things :) ? Spend time with friends. Stay levelheaded. That should sum it up, more or less. And stop buying things again, after checking my work wardrobe, my makeup and finding them adequate. More shopping hiatus. Concentrate on being happy on a shoestring, I guess. Sounds good to me! Happy new year!

Lens

So I'm taking myself very seriously these days, buying a lens that one can take to full format. It is quite a thing to do. It feels like buying a grand piano, really serious.

Thank You

Today I came back from the shops.

I am so lucky! I have a place to stay, friends, family, work, enough food and three beautiful pets, the possibility to take pictures, play the piano, study, even drink a wicket glass of vine if I choose. This is such a privilege - I am truly lucky.

Oslo Graffiti 57

Somehow it seems (to me) that we feel too much and think too little, but fascinating graffiti none the less

Christmas Run

Got the picture in an email from Tokyomilk, but this is how things are right now, the Christmas run has begun, starting with the tree tonight:)

I hope my silent friend is well...

The Unseen People

There is a man I know somewhat. He has chosen not to speak. He is gentle. He has no family to take care of him, so he lives in a supervised flat. He can not really take care of himself, he would not survive  without help, but it is very hard to know what he needs and wants. This Christmas he got plastic flowers, they are easy to take care of. I wonder if they are easy on the eyes?

Christmas Pig

Noor
So, what's happening here? Very little, mostly I'm working on picking myself up, getting into better shape via exercise, good nutrition and trying to make an effort with the way I look. The last part is fun, even if I realized I can not compete with the guinea pigs as they are naturally beautiful all the time, even when just out of "bed". I plan to go back to my studies in the not too distant future, teaching less and exercising more. It is a little silly going to med school and getting into really bad shape in the process. What is there to say, it is like oozing bad street cred? Generally I try to live as "slowly" as possible, staying out of life's fast lane as it proved rather hash. Slow life and slow food. - And then there is Christmas:) - a lovely time of the year, friends, the three "piglets" and my cameras.

Vegan Bean Brownies

These are pretty splendid brownies based on a recipe from this blog.

One can of black beans (approximately 230 grams)
One table spoon crushed linen seeds
2,5 table spoons water
Two table spoons rape seed oil (canola oil)
Some may like to add a little coffee
100 ml sugar
100 ml dark chocolate
100 ml coco powder
One tea spoon baking powder

Run everything except the chocolate in food processor until smooth, then add chocolate and blend until there is hardly any sound of crushed chocolate. Bake in a baking paper covered tin in the oven 175C for approximately 20 minutes until the top is dry. Cool and store in the fridge.

This may happen... Very rich cake, a small piece goes a long way

Oslo Graffiti 53

There used to be trees in the background here, but they are all cut down and now this contraption has surfaced. Are we seeing "progress" here? Man against nature? The trees used to be lovely.

Sunday Joy

I do so love hearing someone over the age of twenty who can do this kind of athleticism. Shows there may be hope for us all.

Oslo Graffiti 50

I'm sorry it is in Norwegian. It says among other things that you have a duty to say no to stupidity that kills.

Honorable mention in international photo competition ..... :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) must practice even harder now. They did not write Linnea  though - which is my middle name, look for Oslo, Norway. I asked them if they could put my middle name on the webpage too, hopefully they will.

A National Treasure

A bill made by Aurkust who drew the stories of Solan Gundersen and other equally eccentric and wonderful characters.  Picture taken at Theatercafeen - Soland's menu: vodka, peas&meat, cream cake, pint of lager and an assortment (large:) of other spirits. Solan is a national treasure in Norway. A highly loved character, very tough in a very cute way and working class to the bone, in a way that transcends everything.

Knitted Art

My friend Nina and I have been arranging Kulturnatt i Oslo Musikklærerforening (Culture Night in Oslo Musikklærerforening 2012 - part of Culture Nigh in Oslo 2012) for four years now. This was our last time. This year Annelene Erikesen exhibited knitted art.

I was in charge that day, not a lot of time to take pictures, so these are the snappiest of snapshots
